An East Coast Summer Wedding

Set on a lawn overlooking the Chesapeake Bay, Billy and Callie said their vows. These two wed on a warm summer day that was the coastal wedding of anybody’s dreams. Callie and her girls got ready in the historic bank in town that has turned into the perfect wedding day space. Callie shared a first look with her bridesmaids and her Dad before heading over to the ceremony where her Groom saw her for the first time down the aisle.

Their ceremony was a deeply intimate and personal one. Billy’s Dad officiated and their friends led the crowd in worship to celebrate their union. When the ceremony was over, cocktail hour began while the couple snuck off for a surprise boat entrance into their reception. We captured some of my favorite newlywed portraits while out on the water which was a fun addition to their gallery and also gave the couple a few moments away from the crowd to enjoy themselves.

The rest of the night was just as fun and personal and the day had been so far. Family and friends got up to say a toast and share their love for the couple. First dances kicked off a wild reception. The couple and I did slip out for a few moments alone for some golden hour photos before the sun set behind the bay. I like to break up the amount of time we do photos during a wedding day. One, because it gives you a different feel to each set of photos, and two I never want it to feel like you’ve been standing in front of my camera for too long!

After everyone danced the night away, the newlyweds had their exit with cold sparklers and a flower petal toss..two of my favorite exit options in one! Couldn’t get better than that.
